                                        STINGER "CONTINUATION SERIES"

SCCA required all Corvairs racing in "D" production to have a Yenko YS-ID plate through the mid-'80's.
Since Yenko's actual Stinger production ended after the 1969 year, there was no opportunity for some racers to participate in the sanctioned events if they didn't own a Yenko Stinger.

The timing is a bit uncertain, but it is believed that in the mid to late 1970's, Yenko decided to provide YS-Plates to racers to continue the legacy. These race cars are considered the Yenko Stinger "Continuation Series".

The 30 or so Plates still known to exist began with YS-132 and continued through YS-320.  No YS-200 series Plates were ever issued,
We also have Plates YS-106  and YS-121 that were issued for different reasons.

Current Owners of Yenko Issued YS-ID Plates to be used on individual owner's race cars

YS-106     Ray Behrends, IL
NOTE:    YS-106 ID-Plate was mailed to original owner of YS-065 by Donna Mae in an attempt to allow the owner to register the car as a 1967. The state did not agree and YS-065 ended up titled as a 1966. YS-106 tag remains in an envelope with current owner along with supporting paperwork from Yenko.

YS-121      Dave Edsinger, MD
This was Tony DeLorenso's 1966 A sedan that got converted into a Stinger.
Tony and Don Yenko were friends and co-drove Corvettes in several endurance races.

YS-303     Jan Bristow acquired the 303 tag from Don along with parts with an invoice date of 3/31/77

YS-313     I had my YS-313 tag for some time, got it from Don's father in 1980. Sent a letter to Yenko Chevrolet back then inquiring about a Stinger kit, or an available YS tag. Don's father sent me the 313 tag, some Stinger stickers and Yenko Tuned decals. He found the tag in a desk drawer and sent it. I wrote back asking what I owed him, his reply was "nothing."
